Cartems Donuterie Vancouver Interior

Cartems Donuterie Interior

This is not the first time I write about vegan donuts. It’s not the first time I write about Vancouver, neither. I guess I love vegan donuts and Vancouver.

Major idea-breakthroughs aside, this donut place is the bomb.

Before I dive into the delicious range of donuts that Cartems Donuterie has to offer, there’s one thing I need to address first. How the place got conceived, according to co-owner Jordan Cash:

“Cartems was literally born out of a dream I had 10 years ago. I went to bed one night and woke up with a vision of opening an amazing donut shop, even going so far as foreseeing its name– ‘Cartems’. The name doesn’t mean anything–it’s just made up. I scribbled the idea for the logo and the name down on a hotel drink coaster that was in my room. I still have it”

Quality ingredients, quality donuts, and lots of smiles: Definitely a haven for donut-loving Vancouverites that, until Cartems opened their first place in the Downtown area, had to cross the border down south to Seattle or Portland to get their hands on donuts at this level.

The Cartems Donuterie Menu

Cartems Donuterie

There are two standard flavours being sold under the label of No Animals, No Problem. A single donut costs between $3.25-$3.75 (depending on which you feast your eyes on), while a half-dozen goes for $18 and a dozen for $36.

Everything at Cartems Donuterie is made fresh daily in house. Yay to that! This includes the house smoked walnuts, the toffee, caramel, the list goes on. The treats at Cartems are also offered as gluten free and vegan, even if you do not have any dietary restrictions it is still recommended to try some of the gluten-free doughnuts because they are absolutely fantastic. Sitting at the top is the Earl Grey doughnut, but the Maple Walnut is a sweet and savory paradise.
